Keep Your Pets Healthy, Vaccinate to Prevent Illness

It’s important to vaccinate your pets to reduce their risk of contracting certain sicknesses, diseases and viruses. Vaccines are made up of antigens. These antigens are made to help the body set up an immune response to such diseases. Vaccines don’t cause the disease; they help the body from contracting.

Dog Vaccinations

Certain vaccinations are given to all dogs, such as the Distemper/Parvo and Rabies. Other vaccines, such as Parainfluenza, Borrelia Burgdorferi and Leptospirosis are given depending on your dog’s potential risk or exposure to these bacteria.

Cat Vaccinations

Just like dogs, all cats should be vaccinated against certain viruses as well. Feline distemper and rabies are some of the core vaccines you should have administered to your cat. There are other vaccinations that we may recommend for your cat depending on his/her lifestyle and risk of exposure. Some of these vaccines may include, Leukemia.

Vaccinate Your Kittens & Puppies

If you recently got a new dog or cat or are questioning whether your pet should have an additional vaccine, call our office to set up an appointment with one of our vets. We will provide all the core vaccines your new pet should be getting and will give you our opinion on any extra vaccines you may be wondering about.
